NC: Ramesh Lekhak Has No Role in Visa Scam

The Nepali Congress has expressed its firm belief that Home Minister and party leader Ramesh Lekhak is not involved in the 'visit visa' scandal.

The ruling party came to this conclusion after a lot of deliberations during a meeting of top party leaders at party president Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha on Monday.

After the meeting, party spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat said, “We believe that he (Lekhak) is innocent, that he has connection with the scam.”

Meanwhile, the CPN (Maoist Centre) has suggested that Minister Lekhak should resign. The suggestion came on Monday during the party's meeting, which decided to move ahead with party unification with the Nepal Socialist Party (Nespa) and the Newa National Party.
