Discussions are still going on between the ruling and opposition parties about the recent visit visa scandal, but no final agreement has been made yet.
Hit Raj Pandey, the Chief Whip of CPN (Maoist Centre), said on Sunday that talks are happening, but there is still no consensus. Speaking to the media at the Parliament building in New Baneshwor, he said the opposition parties are united in their demand for a parliamentary investigation committee to look into the case.
Santosh Pariyar, Chief Whip of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), also criticized the ruling parties, saying they have not taken the issue seriously enough. He said that forming an inquiry committee is the minimum demand of the opposition.
However, Pariyar added that the opposition still hopes to reach a solution through dialogue. He expressed hope that the parties will come to an agreement before Parliament meets again on Monday.
