Medical Entrepreneur Durga Prasai, 6 Others Sent to Dillibazar Jail

Following a violent protest in Kathmandu’s Tinkune area on Chaitra 15 (March 28), seven individuals including controversial medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai have been sent to Dillibazar Jail.

According to Kathmandu District Police Chief SSP Bhishma Prasad Bhusal, all seven were transferred to Dillibazar prison on Friday after a court order.

Alongside Prasai, those jailed include Kumar Tamang, Saroj Gautam, Gokarna Shahi, Dandapani Regmi, Sushil Baral, and Keshav Basnet.

The Kathmandu District Court, under Judge Dhruva Raj Karki, issued the order late Thursday, remanding them to custody for trial. They face legal proceedings in connection with their involvement in the March protest that turned violent.
