Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has joined hands with Nepal Telecom to establish a citywide network for CCTV cameras. The partnership will use Nepal Telecom’s optical fiber and FTTH services to provide internet connectivity for CCTV networks in all ward offices.
Under the agreement, CCTV footage from various locations will be transmitted in real time to monitoring rooms. Nepal Telecom will handle network maintenance, technical support, emergency services, and timely resolution of disruptions, while KMC will provide the necessary equipment, including cameras and routers.
The collaboration also ensures high-speed bandwidth and continuous technology upgrades to meet future requirements. KMC officials say the project aims to improve intergovernmental coordination and enhance safety and smart city initiatives across Kathmandu.
