Communications Minister Kharel Confirms Readiness for March 5 Election

Communications and IT Minister Jagadish Kharel said preparations for the March 5 election are complete, including a secure and conducive environment for a fear-free vote. Speaking in South Korea at an event organized by the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Kharel noted that all political parties are participating, and both the government and parties are working to ensure smooth elections.

He emphasized that the interim government’s priorities include holding elections, promoting good governance, curbing corruption, generating employment, and fostering innovation. Kharel also highlighted the importance of AI and digital transformation for Nepal’s future and expressed hope for South Korean support in expanding Nepal’s AI initiatives.

During his visit, Kharel discussed strengthening Nepal–Korea relations and improving services for Nepalis abroad, including facilitating direct flights with Nepal Airlines. He attended the 11th Global ICT Leadership Forum in Seoul and is scheduled to return to Nepal this evening.
