More than 2,500 people injured during the Gen Z protests are now being formally categorized under a new government system designed to organize support and documentation.
A technical committee formed by the Ministry of Health has divided the injured into four groups, highly serious, serious, medium and minor after reviewing each case, spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki said. Identity cards will be issued based on these classifications.
The 10-member team, led by Dr. Saroj Sharma, has been coordinating with District Administration Offices, which have been directed to complete the process quickly.
The protests on September 8 and 9 left 2,572 people injured, and 11 of them are still hospitalized.
