Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki has reiterated that the government is fully committed to holding the elections on schedule under any circumstances. She stated that even if challenges arise in certain areas, elections will be conducted in phases if necessary.
Addressing potential difficulties in Himalayan districts due to extreme cold and geography, Prime Minister Karki said alternative measures, including the use of transportation to relocate voters where feasible, would be adopted to ensure participation. She emphasized that elections are a national priority and compared them to an emergency situation that must be handled with urgency.
The Prime Minister also noted that the estimated cost of the election is around NPR 31–32 billion and stressed that the investment is necessary to ensure the democratic process and the peaceful transfer of power to a newly elected government. She assured that the government remains serious and vigilant about conducting free and peaceful elections.
