Fog, Cloudy Skies Likely as Western Weather System Affects Nepal

The country is currently affected by a western low-pressure system. Because of this, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, along with other hilly and mountainous areas, are mostly cloudy. Other parts of the country have partly cloudy weather.

The Weather Forecasting Division says that fog may develop in some areas of the Tarai this afternoon. The high hills and mountains of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will likely stay cloudy, while other regions will see partly cloudy skies.

There is a chance of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of these provinces.

Tonight, fog may continue in some parts of the Tarai. The high hills and mountains of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are expected to be partly cloudy, while most other areas will be mostly clear.

Light rain and snowfall are also possible in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

The Division has asked people and concerned authorities to stay alert, as fog, rain, and snowfall could affect daily life, health, tourism and trekking, and air and road travel.
