House of Representatives Meeting Postponed Again Amid Political Deadlock

Today’s House of Representatives meeting was postponed without starting and rescheduled for 1 PM tomorrow.

The delay is due to opposition parties demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak over a visit visa scandal. They also want a high-level investigation committee.

The main opposition, Maoist Centre, says Parliament cannot function unless the minister resigns. Speaker Devraj Ghimire held talks with party leaders, but no agreement was reached.

The opposition insists on the minister’s resignation, while the ruling parties want him to address Parliament first. Because of this disagreement, the meeting was postponed again.
