Former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has been suspended from Parliament after being charged with corruption in a land exchange case.

Madhav Kumar Nepal, the chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister, has been automatically suspended from his position as a Member of Parliament after a corruption case was filed against him.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed the case at the Special Court on Thursday. The case is related to a land exchange deal involving the Patanjali Group.
This is the first time in Nepal's history that a former Prime Minister has been charged with corruption. It is also the first case of corruption filed based on a Cabinet decision.
