Senior leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Beduram Bhusal, has claimed that the corruption case against party chairman and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal is politically motivated.

Speaking to reporters at the party office in Aloknagar on Thursday, Bhusal said the case wasn’t filed for legal reasons, but rather as a political move meant to damage Nepal’s reputation.

“This is just another political attack on Madhav Nepal,” Bhusal stated. “We will respond to this unfair action both politically and legally.”

He added that since the case is now in court, the party will fight it through legal means as well.

Although he didn’t mention names, Bhusal hinted that it’s obvious who is behind this politically driven case.
