Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has called for a fair and detailed investigation into reports that unauthorized individuals joined Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on his recent trip to Spain.
On Monday, Lekhak directed Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi and Police Chief Deepak Thapa to find out who traveled outside the official delegation and how they were included. “I’ve asked for a complete investigation into who went, how they went, and under whose arrangement,” he said.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) and the Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau will now take charge of the probe.
Reports claim that dozens of individuals joined the Spain trip by posing as participants in programs involving the Prime Minister, allegedly paying between Rs 1 to 1.5 million each.
The Home Minister said anyone found involved will face legal action.
