Home Minister Gurung’s Remark: “Security Forces Were Handcuffed for 36 Years”

Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has stated that security personnel had been “handcuffed for 36 years.”

He made the remark after police detained youths involved in gang-related activities in various parts of Kathmandu.

Taking to social media today, Gurung wrote, “For 36 years, it seems the handcuffs were put on the security forces.”

Since Gurung assumed office, arrests of individuals, from business figures to political leaders linked to corruption cases have reportedly increased.
