Hamas has agreed to release the hostages as part of a ceasefire deal with Israel in Gaza. They promised to follow through and release the hostages on time.
Israel warned that if Hamas didn’t return the hostages by Saturday, the ceasefire would end. After this warning, Hamas confirmed they would release the hostages as agreed.
Hamas said it would release the rest of the hostages as planned. U.S. President Donald Trump also said that if all the hostages weren’t released, the ceasefire would end.
Meanwhile, after talks in Cairo, Egypt, Hamas confirmed that mediators from Egypt and Qatar helped solve any issues with the deal.
So far, Israel hasn’t responded, but the mediators from Egypt and Qatar said both sides are committed to sticking to the agreement.
