Kathmandu Metropolitan City has officially declared the city a “street homeless-free” area during a program held at Rastriya Sabha Griha.
The city announced that people living on the streets will be rescued, cared for, and helped to return to normal life through joint efforts.
To continue this work, Kathmandu Metropolitan City signed an agreement with Nepal Police, the District Administration Office Kathmandu, and Manav Sewa Ashram. The agreement includes rescue operations, healthcare services, and rehabilitation support for homeless and vulnerable people.
Officials said the program aims to improve people's well-being, safety, and social reintegration. They added that support and coordination will continue even after the declaration.
