Prime Minister Must Correct His Border Remarks: Harkraj Rai

Harkraj Rai, chairperson of the Shram Sanskriti Party, has objected to the Prime Minister’s statement in Parliament regarding border issues and demanded that the remarks be corrected.

Speaking during Monday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Rai said the Prime Minister had implied that Nepal had encroached upon the territory of another country and called on him to clarify and substantiate the statement.

He said, “We have been demanding that the statement made by the Prime Minister while standing at the parliamentary rostrum be corrected. He must clarify where and how Nepal has allegedly encroached upon another country’s border. Otherwise, he should address the Nepali people, correct his statement, and apologize.”

Rai stated that if the Prime Minister could not prove his remarks, he should publicly correct them and apologize to the people of Nepal. He also argued that it would not be appropriate to move on to other issues until the matter is resolved.

He further stressed that protecting the nation’s borders is one of the state’s primary responsibilities and said that a clear policy is necessary against any form of border encroachment.
