The Supreme Court has received five separate writ petitions questioning the recent dissolution of the House of Representatives. Among the petitioners is Yubaraj Saphal from Sindhuli, who filed the case on Tuesday.

The dissolution was announced by President Ram Chandra Paudel on the recommendation of interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki following the Gen-Z movement earlier in September. The President also declared that new parliamentary elections would be held on March 5.

The petitioners have argued that Karki’s appointment as interim prime minister itself was unconstitutional and have requested the court to annul both her appointment and the House dissolution. According to court officials, the petitions are currently under review before further proceedings begin.
