The Central Working Committee of the Nepali Congress is convening today at the party’s headquarters, where tight security arrangements have been enforced ahead of the meeting. Police personnel, along with members of the Tarun Dal and Nepal Student Union, are deployed to ensure safety.
President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who sustained injuries in a Gen-Z attack, is attending the meeting for the first time since the incident. Party insiders said several leaders are expected to urge Deuba to step down and call for the timely organization of the party’s next general convention.
The meeting brings together central committee members, office-bearers, invited representatives, and provincial presidents from all seven provinces.
