Israeli officials have verified through forensic testing that the remains of 24-year-old Nepali national Bipin Joshi were among those handed over by Hamas on Monday.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Tuesday that the bodies of Bipin Joshi and Guy Illouz were identified following detailed forensic examinations. The victims’ families have been officially notified.
The identification process was carried out by the Israeli National Institute of Forensic Medicine, working with the police and the IDF’s Military Rabbinate.
According to the IDF, Illouz had been kidnapped alive and likely died from untreated injuries during captivity. Officials also suspect that Joshi was killed while being held hostage, though this information has not been independently verified.
