Fires, Storms, and Avalanches Leave Trail of Destruction Across Nepal

Multiple fire and natural disaster incidents have struck Nepal in recent days, causing deaths, injuries, and widespread damage, according to the NDRRMA.

At least three people have died and eight others have been injured in a series of fire incidents and natural disasters across Nepal over the past two days, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) reported.

 

Nine fire incidents were recorded in 24 hours, from November 3 to 4, in districts including Jhapa, Morang, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Gorkha, Parbat, and Kailali, causing losses worth around Rs 1.1 million.

 

Meanwhile, a storm in Rasuwa triggered an avalanche that damaged a hotel in Langtang, while landslides hit Bhojpur, Khotang, and Lalitpur. Another avalanche in Dolakha’s Yelung Ri peak killed three climbers and left four foreigners missing.

 

Authorities have rescued snowstorm victims in Gorkha’s Chumnubri, while snakebite cases were also reported in Siraha, Tanahun, and Kailali.
