The Election Commission has released the official timeline for the House of Representatives election on March 5 (Fagun 21), covering both first-past-the-post (FPTP) and proportional representation (PR) systems. Key dates include candidate registration, withdrawal, complaints, and final list publication.
For the FPTP system, candidate registration is on Magh 6 from 10 AM to 5 PM, with the initial list published the same day 5–7 PM. Complaints can be filed on Magh 7, and the final list will be announced on Magh 8. Candidates can withdraw on Magh 9, with final lists and election symbols published by 3 PM.
For the PR system, the process starts on Mangsir 20, with party applications due Mangsir 21–23. Registered parties will be published on Mangsir 24, closed candidate lists submitted on Poush 13–14, and final lists published on Magh 20.
The Commission stressed that following the schedule is vital for a smooth, organized, and transparent election process.
