The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) honored top taxpayers on National Tax Day 2082, based on income reports for FY 2080/81, recognizing companies and individuals who contributed the highest taxes in their sectors.
Corporate awards included Nepal Telecommunication Authority (highest corporate tax), Third I International (top single proprietorship), Dawar Nepal Pvt. Ltd. (goods export), Orix Nepal Pvt. Ltd. (IT services), and Poshak Breeder Farm Pvt. Ltd. (agriculture & livestock). Other sector winners included Nepal Investment Mega Bank Ltd., Nobel Medical College, Solti Hotel Ltd., Bhatbhateni Supermarket, Bhotekoshi Power Company, and IME Ltd.
Individual recognition went to Raj Bahadur Shah for highest personal tax. Based on annual turnover, CDS & Clearing Ltd. and VF Services Pvt. Ltd. were also honored. Regular VAT contributors from 2076–2082 included Nepal Telecom Ltd. and Unilever Nepal. Last year’s best-performing office, Baglung IR Office, was also awarded.
The awards highlight the IRD’s efforts to encourage tax compliance and recognize excellence among Nepal’s taxpayers.
