Nepali Congress leader Dhanraj Gurung has said that all factions within the Nepali Congress will move forward united.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday after a gathering organized by the faction led by senior leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala, Gurung made this claim. He said that all leaders and cadres who participated in the gathering shared the view that all sides of the Congress must move ahead together. Describing the Nepali Congress as a home, Gurung said disagreements among family members should be taken as normal. He also stated that Shekhar Koirala is in favor of party unity.

He said, “We gathered here to listen to our friends in this new situation. Friends from across the country have come, so this was an opportunity to hear their views and understand what is in their minds. This gathering was not held to make any decisions. But the message that came from friends is clear, Congress must move forward together. And we all share the same view: we must move ahead united. As I have said many times, Congress is a home; we are one family. In a family, occasional disputes happen, who sits in front, who sits behind these are normal matters. So this issue should not be exaggerated unnecessarily. It should be taken in a normal way.”

Leader Gurung also urged everyone not to blow internal issues of the Nepali Congress out of proportion.
