A provision has been made to file complaints today against candidates who have submitted their nominations for the House of Representatives.

 

According to the timeline set by the Election Commission, complaints can be filed against candidates whose nomination papers have been registered under the first-past-the-post electoral system. Following the filing of complaints, the Commission stated that scrutiny of nomination papers and complaints, along with necessary decisions, will be completed and the final list of candidates will be published by 5:00 pm on Magh 8.

 

The Commission has arranged for candidates to withdraw their nominations on Magh 9 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. On the same day, the final list of candidates will be published between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, and election symbols will be allocated to candidates from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

 

The nomination process for candidates under the first-past-the-post system for the House of Representatives election was completed in an enthusiastic and peaceful manner at the offices of the concerned chief returning officers and election officers. According to the Commission, a total of 2,925 candidacies have been registered so far.

 

Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic and peaceful completion of the nomination process. The Commission stated that he also expressed hope for the cooperation of political parties and all stakeholders in the remaining election programs.

 

Election Commission Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut informed that 2,925 nominations have been filed. According to him, among them are 336 female candidates and 2,589 male candidates. Similarly, the Commission stated that 85 persons with disabilities and 138 candidates from backward areas have filed their nominations.
