Various organizations have expressed serious concern over the rape and murder of 16-year-old Inisa BK, which took place last Saturday in the Janjagaran Community Forest inside Shaheed Udyan in Birendranagar Municipality–4, Surkhet.
Several civil society and human rights organizations in Surkhet issued a joint statement demanding strict punishment for those involved in the incident.
The organizations said they were shocked by the crime and called for a fair investigation and legal action against the perpetrators. The statement noted that such a brutal crime against a 16-year-old girl, who was residing in Birendranagar Municipality–1, has deeply shaken the entire society.
The statement said, “Sexual violence against women and girls cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. To build a safe, civilized, and just society, state institutions, civil society, and citizens must show collective commitment and active participation.”
The organizations also urged the concerned authorities to strengthen security measures, monitoring systems, and awareness programs to prevent sexual violence and crimes against women and children.
