Argentina has announced its decision to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO). This information was shared by Manuel Adorni, spokesperson for the President's office of Argentina, as reported by CNN. President Javier Milei instructed Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein to remove the country’s participation from WHO.
Prior to this, U.S. President Donald Trump had also signed an executive order to withdraw from the WHO. Following this, Argentina decided to take a similar step in disengaging from the WHO. The Argentine government also accused the WHO of causing economic damage by enforcing lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic. Spokesperson Manuel Adorni also mentioned that Argentina had not received any financial support from WHO for health management.
