The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the situation of malnutrition in Gaza is extremely serious. This warning came as aid deliveries to Gaza resumed, according to BBC reports.
Israel recently announced a daily 10-hour pause in military operations in parts of Gaza to allow aid to reach people. Following this, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates sent 25 tons of relief supplies by air to Gaza. Aid trucks from Egypt and Jordan have also entered Gaza.
However, near one of the aid routes, at least 9 people were reportedly killed and 54 injured in Israeli gunfire. The incident happened while people were waiting for help in central Gaza’s Netzarim corridor.
On Saturday, just an hour after a ceasefire had begun, a residential building in Gaza was also attacked. The Israeli military claimed they fired warning shots after suspicious groups came close and said they had no information about the injured or the dead.
Aid groups have warned that only a small amount of aid is getting in, which could lead to more chaos.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the war will continue until its goals are achieved. He stated that safe routes for aid already existed before, and now they have become more official. The United Nations, however, has accused Israel of creating many obstacles to the delivery of aid.
