A western low-pressure system has triggered unstable weather conditions across Nepal, raising the possibility of rainfall and snowfall in several high hilly and mountainous regions.
The Weather Forecasting Division said the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces are currently under full cloud cover, while the rest of the country remains partly cloudy. Light rain has already been recorded in parts of Bagmati Province and at one or two locations in Gandaki Province.
Fog is likely to develop in many parts of the Terai this afternoon. In the high hills and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, partly cloudy conditions will persist, with a chance of light rain and snowfall at isolated places.
Tonight, fog may continue in some Terai areas. Partly cloudy weather is expected in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, while the rest of the country will remain mostly clear.
The Division has advised people to stay alert, noting that rain and snowfall could disrupt daily activities, tourism, health services, and air and road transportation.
