A total of 2,000 employees will be deployed in Tanahun for the House of Representatives elections on March 5.
The District Administration Office said preparations for staffing the elections are almost complete. Chief District Officer Shivlal Tiwari said government employees will be given first priority as polling officers and assistant polling officers. Teachers will be called in if there are any staff shortages.
Around 2,200 security personnel will also be deployed to maintain election security throughout the district.
Tanahun has 254,397 registered voters, with 123,491 men and 130,906 women, according to the District Election Office. Among the district’s 10 local areas, Byas Municipality has the most voters, while Devghat Rural Municipality has the fewest.
The district has two House of Representatives constituencies: Constituency No. 1 has 136,118 voters, and Constituency No. 2 has 118,279 voters. A total of 144 polling stations and 309 polling centers have been set up across Tanahun for the elections.
