Vice President Yadav also said that Nepal Television and Radio Nepal have played an important role in promoting national unity, social harmony, cultural diversity, and democracy. He stressed that everyone should work together to make public service broadcasting stronger and more people-focused.
He further said that the media has a key role in providing accurate information during elections, raising voter awareness, and helping create a peaceful election environment.
Secretary at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Laxmi Kumari Basnet, said that Nepal Television has helped promote civil rights, freedom of expression, public awareness, cultural preservation, and social change by delivering truthful information.
Executive Director of PSB Nepal, Dr Mahendra Bista, said that public broadcasting institutions are being run according to international standards and national needs.
Meanwhile, trade union leaders at NTV asked the management to focus on institutional strengthening and ensure better career growth opportunities for employees.
On the occasion, the Vice President awarded Lifetime Service Awards to employees who completed 40, 30, and 20 years of service at NTV. Other employees, journalists, advertising agencies, and programme producers were also honoured for their outstanding work.
