U.S. President Donald Trump has hinted that the White House has secretly set a deadline to reach a deal with Iran, though he declined to disclose the timeline publicly. When asked by reporters at the White House whether Iran had been given a deadline, Trump responded that only “they” know for sure. Asked whether the Pentagon has any timetable for reducing the U.S. military presence in the Middle East, Trump said they would see.

Trump’s latest remarks come at a time when Washington is increasing military pressure on Iran, amid nationwide unrest that has spread across the country since late December 2025.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran has always pursued dialogue and cooperation to resolve disputes and does not want war. Criticizing Western countries, he said their actions reflect a lack of practical commitment to diplomacy and international law.
