Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the prices of diesel and kerosene.
A meeting of the corporation’s board held on Saturday decided to raise the retail prices of both diesel and kerosene by Rs 3 per liter.
The price hike came after Nepal Oil Corporation received a new price list from Indian Oil Corporation on Saturday, showing higher purchase prices for petroleum products.
Although the purchase price of diesel from Indian Oil Corporation went up by Rs 4.66 per liter, Nepal Oil Corporation increased the selling price by only Rs 3 per liter to reduce the burden on consumers.
The new prices will take effect from 12:01 am on Sunday.
At the same time, the corporation has reduced aviation fuel prices. The price of domestic aviation fuel has been cut by Re 1 per liter, while international aviation fuel in Kathmandu has been reduced by USD 7 per kiloliter.
Even though Indian Oil Corporation increased the price of LPG by Rs 45.49 per cylinder, Nepal Oil Corporation has decided not to increase the retail price of cooking gas for now.
