Two Pilgrims Missing in Gosainkunda Lake, Search Operation Underway

Two pilgrims went missing while bathing in the sacred lake at the holy site of Gosainkunda on Sunday.

According to Hem Bahadur Shahi, the District Police Chief, the missing men have been identified as Sujan Dhakal, who is around 28 years old and comes from Biratnagar in Morang district, and Manoj Neupane, who is from Belwari, also in Morang district.

It is believed that both of them may have drowned after accidentally entering a deep part of the lake while bathing. Authorities were informed immediately, and a search operation was started on the same day. Teams from the Nepal Army’s Shreenath Battalion, the Nepal Police, and the Armed Police Force have been sent to the site to carry out the rescue efforts.

The search for the missing pilgrims is still ongoing, and officials are doing everything they can to locate them as quickly as possible.
