The Department of Drug Administration (DDA) has ordered an immediate ban on the sale and distribution of several unapproved medicinal products that were being widely advertised on social media without scientific backing.

Issuing a public notice, the DDA listed the names and images of the products, warning that their use could pose serious health risks. The banned items include Paurush Health Jeevan, Paurush Jeevan, Diffusal-L, Kaya Plus, 100 Horsepower, 30 Minute Stop, Diabetic Control, Gymnema Sylvestre Capsule, and Booji.

These products had been promoted on platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, with exaggerated and baseless claims of curing chronic illnesses like thyroid disorders, diabetes, prostate problems, obesity, sexual dysfunction, and even cancer.

DDA Director General Narayan Dhakal stated that using such products without proper medical guidance or scientific validation is dangerous. He also emphasized that misleading advertisements, especially those claiming guaranteed cures or increased sexual performance, must be stopped immediately.

The department has warned producers, sellers, and distributors of strict legal action under Nepal’s Drug Act. It also directed social media platforms to remove these misleading ads without delay and urged the public not to consume these unauthorized medicines.
