More than 10,000 people have been displaced by flooding in Hpa-an, a village in Myanmar’s Kayin State, following days of heavy rainfall. According to reports, the flooding has affected 2,298 households, forcing 10,395 individuals to seek refuge in 24 temporary relief shelters. Chinese state media outlet Xinhua reported that the Thanlwin River rose above the danger level due to continuous downpours, triggering widespread flooding in the region.

In response to the disaster, the Kayin State government is working in coordination with aid donors to provide essential food supplies to the affected population. Meanwhile, Myanmar's Ministry of Health is offering medical services at the relief centers to assist those in need of treatment.
