Rain and Snow Likely in Mountain Areas, Winds Expected in Some Regions

The Weather Forecasting Division says the country is currently affected by a mix of westerly and local winds.

Because of this, the hilly and mountain areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are mostly cloudy. Other hilly regions are partly cloudy, while the Terai region is mostly clear.

This afternoon, cloud cover will continue in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi Province and other high-altitude regions. In Koshi, hilly areas and the Terai will see partly cloudy weather.

There is a chance of light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning in some mountain areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. Strong winds may also occur in parts of the Terai in Lumbini and Sudurpashchim.

Tonight, mountain regions will stay mostly cloudy, hilly areas will be partly cloudy, and the Terai will remain mostly clear.

Light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning may still occur in some mountain areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali, and in a few hilly parts of Koshi and Gandaki.

The Division has advised people and transport operators in affected areas to stay careful and take necessary safety measures.
