Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Jagadish Kharel has urged the current government to fully implement the Gen Z agreement in both letter and spirit.
Addressing the House of Representatives for the first time on Wednesday, he said the 10-point agreement must be followed strictly, warning that any deviation would not be acceptable.
He stated, “The 10-point Gen Z agreement must be implemented in its entirety. If the agreement reached between the Sushila Karki-led government and the Gen Z movement is altered in any way, it will not be acceptable.”
Kharel also commented on the ongoing political changes within Parliament, saying that a generational shift is taking place. He remarked that old political forces are fading while new ones are emerging.
He said, “Old leaves are falling in Parliament, and new buds are growing. It feels like the arrival of spring. These young faces will grow, bloom, and bear fruit, delivering results to the people. Today, there has been a political paradigm shift—the definition of politics and leadership has changed.”
He further claimed that if there is any leader who has transformed the meaning of politics in Nepal, it is Rabi Lamichhane.
“If someone has redefined politics in this country, it is Rabi Lamichhane. He has changed the definition of politics and leadership, and now the political discourse is moving in that direction,” he added.
