Economic Prosperity Possible Only Through Strong Government–Private Sector Collaboration: President Paudel

President Ram Chandra Paudel has stated that the role of the private sector is extremely important for achieving the country’s economic prosperity through the promotion of industry and business, creation of an investment-friendly environment, and development of entrepreneurship.

Addressing the 75th Diamond Jubilee Year and Annual General Meeting of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce on Friday, President Paudel said that the Chamber, as the first representative organization of the private sector, has been playing a commendable role by maintaining cooperation with the government, stakeholders, diplomatic missions, and development partners.

He remarked that the institution has been effectively contributing to policy-making through objective analysis, clear perspectives on economic challenges, and practical recommendations.

Highlighting the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, disruptions in supply chains, decline in production and trade, and weaknesses seen in economic management afterward, the President said that these factors have affected the economy, making stronger coordination and collaboration between the government and the private sector even more necessary.

He stressed that political stability is the foundation of economic prosperity, adding that only a stable government, clear policies, and long-term strategies can accelerate industrial development, expand investment, and create employment opportunities.
