South Korea's Justice Ministry has banned President Yoon Suk Yeol from traveling abroad as authorities investigate allegations of rebellion and other charges linked to his brief declaration of martial law last week.
On Saturday, Yoon avoided an impeachment attempt led by opposition parties, with most lawmakers from his party boycotting the vote. However, opposition groups plan to submit a new impeachment motion this week.
A Justice Ministry official stated that the travel ban was imposed following requests from police, prosecutors, and an anti-corruption agency, as they continue investigating Yoon’s actions surrounding the martial law declaration.
