Foreign Minister Sishir Khanal is leaving for India today for a two-day official visit.
His visit comes shortly after Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane returned from New Delhi.
Khanal will visit India on June 6 and 7 at the invitation of Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. According to officials, the visit was planned before Lamichhane’s trip to India.
Deepak Bohara, a member of the RSP Secretariat who accompanied Lamichhane, said that discussions during Khanal’s visit are expected to focus on various issues of mutual interest between Nepal and India.
Earlier, Khanal and Jaishankar met during the 9th Indian Ocean Conference held in Mauritius.
