Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of RSP, who is currently on a visit to India, held a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After the meeting, Prime Minister Modi shared a photo with Lamichhane on Facebook and expressed his commitment to taking Nepal–India relations to greater heights.

In his status update, Modi said he was pleased to meet Lamichhane and welcomed his desire to work closely together for shared prosperity and a brighter future. He described Nepal as a priority partner under India’s “Neighborhood First” policy. Prime Minister Modi also stated that India remains committed to strengthening its special and multidimensional relationship with Nepal and expressed hope that cooperation with the new government would further deepen ties between the two countries.

The delegation led by RSP chairman Lamichhane has been holding meetings with various Indian political leaders during the visit. The meeting with Modi is being viewed as an opportunity to further strengthen Nepal–India relations and political dialogue between the two nations. Analysts say Modi’s public message indicates that Nepal continues to hold high importance in India’s foreign policy.
