Marking Pushpalal Memorial Day in Kathmandu, Maoist Centre Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ reiterated his commitment to uniting Nepal’s communist forces.
Speaking at a discussion program held at the National Assembly Hall, Prachanda said that despite changing times, he still carries the flag of communist unity. Reflecting on his 36-year political journey, he mentioned his leadership roles during the armed revolt, peace process, and multiple party unification efforts.
“Whether it was revolt, peace, or unity, I’ve led it all. Even now, I’m holding the flag for communist unity,” he said.
Prachanda stressed that Pushpalal Shrestha, a founding leader of Nepal’s communist movement, should be remembered as a shared figure among all leftist forces. “Pushpalal is our common centre. We must unite and build alliances keeping his values at heart,” he added.
He also warned against rising confusion and misinformation in the political sphere and urged revolutionary and progressive forces to stand together. Prachanda further stated that Pushpalal’s ideology should guide the path forward for a more organized and stronger communist movement.
