Moderate Flood Risk in 26 Districts; Heavy Rain Likely in Bagmati and Gandaki

Although the weather is sunny across the country, the Weather Forecasting Division has predicted light to moderate rainfall in many areas this afternoon.

According to the Flood Forecasting Division, there is a moderate risk of flooding today in several districts including Taplejung, Tehrathum, Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Ramechhap, Panchthar, Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Khotang, Okhaldhunga, Sindhupalchok, Dolakha, Kavre, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Kaski, and Gorkha.

Likewise, the flood risk is also moderate in Lamjung, Baglung, Rukum East, Rukum West, Salyan, Rolpa, Surkhet, and Dailekh. The department has urged people living near rivers and streams in these areas to stay alert and adopt precautions.

The overall monsoon activity is currently weak across the country. However, there is a chance of thunderstorms and light to moderate rain in some parts this afternoon, especially in the hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, where heavy rain may occur in one or two places.

Additionally, windy weather is expected tonight in some parts of Koshi and Madhesh provinces. Last night, light to moderate rain occurred in some eastern areas.
