Five-hour Power Outage in Parts of Kathmandu Today

Power supply will be cut off for 2.5-5 hours in different parts of Kathmandu on Saturday, according to a notice from the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
 

NEA said the power supply will be disrupted in several areas under the Baneshwor and Ratnapark distribution centers.
 

Under the Baneshwor distribution center, power supply will be cut from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm in the Koteshwor area, especially in Fulbari Marg. This is because two transformers under the Koteshwor feeder need to be shut down to replace a leaning electric pole.
 

The Ratnapark distribution center will shut down the Khichapokhari, Tripureshwar, Bhotebahal and New Road feeders for maintenance and switching service.

Due to this, electricity will be cut off from 11:00 pm till 4:00 pm in the following areas: Khichapokhari Dabali, Machha Bazaar, RB Complex, Siddhicharan Chowk, Sundhara (in front of Nepal Telecom), Central Jail, Women’s Jail, Rangashala, Sundhara Bagdurbar, Bhotebahal, Pipalbot, Dakshinkali Temple, Yangal Chowk, Om Bahal, Lagan Chowk, Planchowk Bhagwati, New Road Sankata, New Road Gate, Gorkhapatra Sansthan, Bhugol Park, Fire Brigade Gate, Basantapur Dabali, Jhose, Om Bahal, Hanumandhoka and nearby areas.
 

NEA also mentioned that if the maintenance work finishes earlier than expected, power will be restored before the scheduled time.
