Road Collapse at Daunne, East-West Highway Blocked

The Daunne section of the East-West Highway has been blocked due to continuous rainfall last night. The road collapsed near Khursani Khola in Bardaghat Municipality-4, stopping all vehicle movement.

Just a few days ago, the road had been freshly blacktopped, but now it has been damaged, and about eight meters of the road has sunk. Efforts are ongoing to reopen the road, according to District Police Chief SP Anupam Shrestha.

Due to the road closure, vehicles are stuck in Bardaghat and Dumkibas, and hundreds of passengers have been stranded.
