Landslide Blocks Kaligandaki Corridor, Halts Traffic

The Kaligandaki Corridor, a major national project, has been blocked by a landslide caused by continuous rainfall.

The landslide happened in Dabalyang, Baglung municipality-10, after heavy rains started on Friday evening.

According to Police Inspector Keshav Thapa from the District Police Office in Baglung, the landslide has stopped all vehicles from traveling both short and long distances. Machines are being used to try and clear the road, he added.

Because of the blockage, direct transport between the district headquarters and southern Baglung has been cut off.

Vehicles traveling to Baglung Bazaar from places like Chhisti, Jaidi, Arjewa and Binamare in Jaimini have been stuck.

Traffic on the corridor heading to Butwal, Bhairahawa, and other areas has come to a halt, affecting tourists heading to Muktinath as well.
