The Department of Foreign Employment has warned that anyone or any organization found sending Nepali workers abroad or initiating the process for foreign employment without legal approval will face action.

The department has requested the public to report such activities, saying that regular and surprise monitoring will be carried out based on complaints.

According to the department, complaints have been received against individuals, educational consultancies, travel agencies, training centers and language institutes who have been advertising foreign employment, collecting passports and documents, and even using fake documents to send people abroad.

As per the Foreign Employment Act 2064, only institutions registered with the department are legally allowed to send Nepali workers abroad.

The department has also reminded training centers that they must meet the required standards when providing training to workers going for foreign employment.

It has also warned that training institutions will be punished if they do not ensure all trainees are present during orientation and do not meet the basic physical and resource-related standards.

Due to the failure of some training centers to follow the guidelines, workers going abroad are not getting proper information, the department said.
