A US court has stopped the Trump administration from banning foreign student admissions at Harvard University.
On Friday, a federal district court in Boston blocked the administration’s action that tried to take away Harvard’s right to admit international students.
Judge Allison Burroughs temporarily stopped the ban, giving relief to thousands of foreign students.
The judge said, “Harvard is not Harvard without international students.”
Until the next hearing, Harvard can continue admitting foreign students.
On Thursday, US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem had sent a letter canceling Harvard’s certification to admit foreign students from the 2025-26 academic year.
