With a crucial judgement from the Supreme Court on a habeas corpus petition seeking the release of Rabi Lamichhane, chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, expected shortly on Friday night itself, a huge crowd of party activists has poured in outside the court gates.

Lamichhane, the then managing director of Gorkha Media, is behind bars as part of a probe into his alleged involvement in a case of cooperative fraud.

Along with Lamichhane, hearing on the writ of former Gorkha Media official and retired DIG Chhabilal Joshi is also over.
Claiming that imprisonment of Lamichhane was unlawful, his wife Nikita Poudel had moved the apex court seeking his release.
