Police have submitted their final investigation report after interrogating those arrested on the charge of fomenting incidents of violence, looting and arson during the March 28 protest of royalist forces held in Kathmandu at the call of its self-styled commander, Durga Prasain.

The government attorney’s office is preparing to register the investigation report on Sunday as it could not do so on Friday due to “time constraints”.

The police report has accused 108 individuals of involvement in murder, offenses against the state, criminal conspiracy and organized crime.

After going through the police report, the attorney’s office will decide on the cases to be filed against the individuals.

As per prevailing laws, cases have to be filed in the court of law against those arrested on the charge of committing organized crimes within 60 days of the arrest, meaning the attorney’s office has until May 29 to do so in this case. The office is preparing to move the court against the accused on Sunday itself.

Out of the 108 people, 53 are already behind bars, some are at large while some others are under investigation beyond bars, including general secretary of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Dhawal Shumsher Rana and senior vice-president Rabindra Mishra.
